Our Mission
KHSC-KansasCOM’s mission is to lead in advancing human health through the promotion of wellness and delivery of outstanding health care, innovative research, and the education of tomorrow’s leaders in biomedicine within a culture that supports diversity, inclusion, critical thinking, and creativity.
In support of this mission, we as a collective will: • Provide leadership, expertise and advocacy on all diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within KansasCOM.
• Direct, lead and advance institutional efforts that create a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive environment where everyone who learns, trains, conducts research, teaches, works, and seeks care within our campus community is included, valued and respected.
• Enhance and develop community partnerships designed to address health needs and promote health equity within the St. Louis community and beyond.
Our vision
Utilize impactful educational methods and technology to train exceptional graduates who are known for service, empathy, and innovation to improve access to the highest standard of care for all.
To make our vision a reality, we have partnered with Medical Intelligence 10—a multidisciplinary advisory group for assessing artificial intelligence capabilities and strategies for health systems, health care companies, and medical schools. In our collaboration, we have created and integrated 11 modules into the KansasCOM curriculum that will train students to become future leaders in health care. These courses educate students on topics such as artificial intelligence, data science, and digital health—providing a foundation for success in any chosen career path in medicine.
