Lecture contact hours refer to instructional approaches in which content is primarily delivered through lectures, either in-person or virtually. Lecture-based components must have instructor engagement.
- Live Lectures held in physical classrooms (can also be available on Zoom). Pre-recorded lectures (internal and/or third-party resources) may be used to meet contact hours when accompanied by instructor-student engagement such as an assignment and/or discussion board; these should account for no more than 5% of the total number of credit hours for the course.
- Interactive components including Q&A sessions, live polls, breakout discussions, and real-time feedback through chat or voice participation. Engagement may also include peer or faculty-led interactions of discussion boards (graded), collaborative assignments, case study discussions, break-out groups, review of board style questions, etc.
- Immediate Responses or Clarifications in which students can ask questions and receive instant responses.
In order for the contact to be counted, there must be instructor-student engagement.
