KHSU-KansasCOM believes it is a vital aspect of your experience as a medical student to engage and connect with the community you one day might be serving. We have partnered with many non-profit organizations around the City of Wichita so that you may see the endless possibilities of giving back to the community. These partnerships include the Mental Health Association, the Wichita Family Crisis Center, Senior Services of Wichita, United Methodist Open Door, the Wichita Botanica Gardens, and many more.
Because of our strong belief in this community engagement philosophy, one half-day during Orientation Week in July will be reserved for community service projects. All students will participate in this event and share their experiences as a cohort. Additionally, SGA-sponsored student organizations are required to partake in at least one community service event per academic year to remain in good standing.
